sprocket pillow

The girls are back to sleeping in their own bedroom.
My husband did a wonderful job redoing the room! Now it's my job to decorate it!

Following this tutorial, I made a pillow to match the girls' bed quilt.
This was so fun and easy to make - I'm sure I'll be whipping up a few more for around the house.

For the back, I used a fat quarter of Hoo's in the Forest (left over from the quilt).

I just love the little deer and owls - such fun fabric!

cutting scraps

I have gone through my scraps and cut squares/rectangles to make this quilt.
They look pretty sitting on my cutting table!
Now I'm busy piecing the blocks - I think this may take me awhile.

I'm so glad all that cutting is done although I hardly made a dent in my scraps!

grocery bags

I have had this pretty stack of fabrics sitting in my sewing room for a couple months now just waiting to be made into bags.

So one day last week I got busy and made three grocery bags.  This is a great pattern and they are quick and easy to make - just what I needed to feel productive that day.  Now I can grocery shop in style!  :)

scrap fabric Kindle case & shop sale

I have been busy sorting through my scrap fabric with plans to make a quilt.
While doing that, I decided to use up some of the scraps that wouldn't work for the quilt to make a case for the Kindle Fire I got for Christmas.

It protects my Kindle and adds some fun color to it but I don't just love it. Maybe I would like it better if the fabrics coordinated a little more, or maybe if it had smaller and more strips of fabric.  But oh well, I did use up some of my scraps and can always make another one later!  :)

crochet love

Mom gave some lovely handmade Christmas gifts!
A ball...a big ball...that jingles when thrown around.

She made me some feet have sure been thanking her!

Please ignore my sock lines...I just took them off for this picture!

She also made little purses for my daughters, a headband for me and a toque for my husband but I don't have pictures of those.

We sure enjoy the crocheted items adding to the bits of handmade around our house!

stuffy bunnies

Not much sewing has been getting done lately.
We are in the middle of redoing the girls' bedroom so they have been sleeping in the spare room/my sewing room.  My late nights/early mornings of sewing have come to a halt for the time being...gotta let the little ones get their sleep!

So here is another little project I did before Christmas.  Three bunnies for three little girls!

With reversible dresses!

And cute little pom pom tails!

Happy Monday!

coloring wallet

Another scrappy project!
Mrs. Santa Claus made these for the girls' stockings.
Another fun project!

I followed this tutorial but changed it a bit as the notepads I found are just 4 x 6.
I also changed the closure by using a button and elastic - a bit easier for little hands.

stack and nest blocks

Remember this post.  I made these stack and nest blocks for my youngest daughter for Christmas.
I used some of my scrap fabric to make some fun, colorful blocks for her to enjoy!
This was a fun project!

One thing I would like to do this year is use up some of my scrap fabric so I was quite excited when I saw that Jodi at Pleasant Home is having a Sew Scraps Along on her blog.  From how to organize your scraps and tutorials using scraps to pictures for inspiration...all found on her blog!

welcome 2012

Happy New Year!

We are back at home after spending 13 days at my Dad & Mom's.  Such fun-filled days - eating, visiting, playing games, evening saunas, more visiting, more eating...  Now that we are back home I am looking forward to getting back in my sewing room once the house back in order (laundry done, gifts put away) and once I kick this fever that I have started the new year with.

This blog is fairly new still so I don't have a ton of projects on here but I thought I would include a little year-end wrap up of what I have shared with you during the past couple months.
