bateau neck dress

I'm back from a wonderful week spent with family in Saskatchewan.
When I got home I had some sewing to do.

After testing the Wee Muses bateau neck top pattern, (you can see those here) I said that the next time I made it I would add some length and make it a dress.  Well, Anneliese came out with a pattern extension and asked if I would want to test it.  Of course I said yes!

I made the classic bateau A-line dress for my 2-year-old daughter using
fabric I had left over from the bateau neck tops.

I made the elastic waist dress for my other two daughters using some jersey interlock I picked up at Joann.

I absolutely love this version of the dress.  So comfy and cute.

Making an A-line dress by adding to the bateau neck top pattern would be pretty simple to do without a pattern (although Anneliese adds details I wouldn't have thought of) but this elastic waist version definitely makes the pattern worth buying.  It's just perfect!

Thank you Anneliese for letting me test this pattern!

super tote diaper bag

I had already made myself a diaper bag before my baby was born but once the
Super Tote pattern by Noodlehead was released, I just had to make myself another bag.

I love the size of this bag.  I fit everything I need with room to spare.

And I love the recessed zipper to keep everything tucked neatly inside.

Four inside pockets to help keep everything organized.

I used fabric from the Bella line by Lotta Jansdotter
paired with some gray linen and blue chevron from Joann's.

To me, this bag has a bit of a Marimekko look about it!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
