bateau neck dress

I'm back from a wonderful week spent with family in Saskatchewan.
When I got home I had some sewing to do.

After testing the Wee Muses bateau neck top pattern, (you can see those here) I said that the next time I made it I would add some length and make it a dress.  Well, Anneliese came out with a pattern extension and asked if I would want to test it.  Of course I said yes!

I made the classic bateau A-line dress for my 2-year-old daughter using
fabric I had left over from the bateau neck tops.

I made the elastic waist dress for my other two daughters using some jersey interlock I picked up at Joann.

I absolutely love this version of the dress.  So comfy and cute.

Bateau Neck Dress

Making an A-line dress by adding to the bateau neck top pattern would be pretty simple to do without a pattern (although Anneliese adds details I wouldn't have thought of) but this elastic waist version definitely makes the pattern worth buying.  It's just perfect!

Thank you Anneliese for letting me test this pattern!

  1. You did such a wonderful job with these! Thank you so much. They look darling on your girls.

  2. WOW! Perfect SIMPLE dresses for your 3 blonde-hair girls! The CLASSIC black-and-white stripes with bright red dotted sleeves for a dress on your 2-yr old and the pastel printed drop-waited dresses in lavender & turquoise on 2 other daughters all seem IDEAL. Again different versions of a CLASSIC pattern by Anneliese for her Wee Muse Pattern collection. I follow her blog, Aesthetic Nest with 3 girls & now I can follow your blog, too.
